On November 25, 2024, the Centre for Energy and Environmental Chemistry Jena (CEEC Jena) marked its 10th anniversary with a big celebration. The event brought together researchers, partners, and distinguished guests to review a remarkable decade of ground-breaking achievements in energy and environmental research and to take a glance at future upcoming projects.
The day began with a warm welcome from Prof. Dr. Ulrich S. Schubert, Director of CEEC Jena and HIPOLE Jena, followed by inspiring speeches from Prof. Dr. Andreas Marx, President of Friedrich Schiller University Jena, Wolfgang Tiefensee, Minister for Economy, Science, and Digital Society of Thuringia, and Dr. Felix Streiter, Managing Director of the Carl Zeiss Foundation. Their speeches highlighted CEEC Jena’s vital role in advancing sustainable energy solutions and fostering collaboration across academia and industry.
Prof. Dr. Schubert also reflected on the center’s journey in his presentation. The event continued with a dynamic poster session and short presentations by CEEC Jena’s project coordinators, showcasing the center’s cutting-edge research in polymer-based batteries, intelligent substrates, sustainable materials, and other ground-breaking initiatives. Guests engaged in vibrant discussions during a coffee break, followed by guided tours of the facilities and a second poster session over snacks and refreshments.
CEEC Jena’s 10-year celebration was not only a moment to look back on its impressive accomplishments but also an opportunity to envision an exciting future in energy and environmental research.
