A great achievement for science in Jena!
HIPOLE Jena warmly congratulates Friedrich Schiller University Jena on its selection as a University of Excellence under Germany’s Excellence Strategy. The decision, announced on 2 October 2026, is a significant recognition of the university’s research and the dedication of its academic community.
As a Helmholtz institute of Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin (HZB), established in close cooperation with Friedrich Schiller University Jena, we are particularly pleased to hear this news. The university is an important partner for HIPOLE Jena, and our work is closely connected to Jena’s wider research community.
This achievement is also an opportunity to recognise the people whose research and commitment help make Jena such a vibrant place for science. We congratulate everyone involved on this success and look forward to continuing our collaboration.
