From Self-Healing Batteries to the Poster Session: Our Summer Student Amin Manafi

03.09.2026 1 min read

As part of the International Summer Student Program (ISSP), Amin Manafi spent the past few weeks at HIPOLE Jena working on an exciting research topic: self-healing electrode materials for use in organic radical batteries.

During his time at HIPOLE Jena, Amin not only gained insight into the institute’s research activities but also had the opportunity to contribute hands-on to the work in the laboratory. In the process, he gained experience in the synthesis, characterization, and processing of polymer materials. Particularly noteworthy were his strong interest in his research topic and his enthusiasm for practical laboratory work.

The ISSP concluded with a joint closing event on August 27, 2026. Amin first introduced his project in a short presentation and then presented his results during a poster session. This gave him the opportunity to exchange ideas with other participants and staff members, answer questions, and provide further insights into his work.

We greatly enjoyed having Amin with us at HIPOLE Jena and are very pleased that he was part of our ISSP. We wish him every success in his future studies and, above all, hope he continues to bring the same curiosity and enthusiasm to science!
