As part of Girls’ Day, HIPOLE Jena welcomed ten pupils for a day of hands-on insights into scientific research.

During their visit, the students had the opportunity to gain first impressions of working in a laboratory by carrying out experiments to detect microplastics from water and soil samples. The activities were prepared and guided by HIPOLE Jena’s scientific and technical staff, who supported the participants throughout the day.

A highlight of the day was a liquid nitrogen demonstration, where the participants took part in preparing ice cream themselves and enjoyed the result afterwards.

A big thank you to the curious girls who have visited us – It was a pleasure to welcome you to HIPOLE Jena! We hope we could spark your interest in science and would be delighted to meet you again.
