Prof. Dr. Hatice Mutlu is the new professor of Sustainable Polymer Chemistry at HIPOLE Jena. Since June 15, 2026, she has been strengthening research on sustainable polymer materials as part of a joint appointment with Friedrich Schiller University Jena.
On August 17, Prof. Dr. Mutlu visited the HZB Adlershof campus, toured the BESSY II synchrotron radiation source and discussed future collaboration with representatives from HZB. Her research on resource-efficient polymerization processes and innovative synthesis strategies for energy and high-performance materials offers numerous points of connection to the research infrastructures and expertise of HZB and HIPOLE Jena. In particular, the possibilities offered by synchrotron radiation at BESSY II open up exciting prospects for joint research and characterization of new polymer materials.
