The 28th International Conference on Analytical Ultracentrifugation (AUC 2026) Workshop and Symposium was held at Uppsala University in Sweden from August 24 to 28, 2026. Uppsala University is the oldest university in Sweden and the Nordic countries and was home to Nobel laureate Theodor Svedberg, who received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1926. Svedberg was also the inventor of the analytical ultracentrifuge (AUC).
Representing HIPOLE Jena, Quyen Tran Dang, Dr. Ilya Anufriev, and Prof. Dr. Nischang participated in the conference with contributions to the workshops and symposium. We are particularly pleased that Quyen, the youngest member of our AUC team working on polyelectrolytes, had the opportunity to present the first results of her studies.
The event also included a visit to the laboratory where Svedberg constructed the first analytical ultracentrifuge, which is still preserved with its main components until today, in recognition of his contributions to science.
