HIPOLE Jena and AG Oschatz researchers attending the 12th International Symposium on the Characterization of Porous Solids (COPS XII) in Dresden.

The 12th International Symposium on the Characterization of Porous Solids (COPS) in Dresden recently brought together around 150 researchers from Europe, the United States, and Japan to discuss the latest developments in porous materials and characterization methods.

Members of HIPOLE Jena, Kai Hetze and Konstantin Schutjajew, together with members of the Oschatz research group, participated in the symposium with an oral presentation and five poster presentations, contributing to the international scientific exchange on porous materials and advanced characterization techniques.

During the conference, Kai Hetze presented the talk “How Water Adsorption Directs Interlayer Distance in Poly(heptazine imides)”. The presentation focused on the use of non-ambient powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) to investigate how interlayer distances in carbon nitrides change depending on humidity conditions.

The symposium provided an excellent platform for scientific discussion, networking, and insights into current advances in the characterization of porous solids.
