In cooperation with partners from the DFG Collaborative Research Center TRR 234, CataLight, researchers from HIPOLE Jena have published an article in Nature Communications. The study demonstrates the storage of solar energy using a redox-active copolymer. By change of pH-value and addition of a catalyst, the stored energy in form of electrons can be reversibly utilized for hydrogen production. This innovative approach opens new possibilities for renewable energy storage toward a sustainable society.
