Our DAAD RISE intern, Henry Bai, had the opportunity to attend this year’s RISE Conference at Heidelberg University and present his research project.
Alongside the scientific talks, the conference focused strongly on interaction with other international students. A particular highlight was the Science Slam, during which selected students presented their research projects in short and creative performances. The wide range of topics included AI-controlled robots, the study of animal languages, and astrophysics.
The supporting programme also offered many enjoyable moments, giving Henry the opportunity to meet other RISE students and exchange experiences related to research, travel, and everyday life.
Another memorable encounter was with Dr. Kapatsina from the German Chemical Society (GDCh), which supported the funding of his RISE internship as a partner organisation. This also gave Henry the opportunity to personally thank those who help make international research stays like this possible.
We are delighted that Henry was able to gain these valuable experiences and take away many new impressions of the international research community.
